Description
f10.0, 1/160 sec., 46mm, December 9, 2005 @ 12:41PM.Detail of a copper fountain statue last winter under 4" of snow - Ross Township, PA.
I initially saw the colors of the patinae that was developing and it struck me how ironic her carefree, vernal expression seemed in the silence of that cold day.

Thank you for raising the issue with the post-processing - I, too, struggled with what I wanted for this image - it is no longer completely "pure" photography, out of the camera, due to my adjustments in photoshop, but that's my slant - I approach photography as a graphic designer, rather than the other way around. Nonetheless, I failed in my attempts to capture the original image to see the best DOF to highlight the subject, so I had to digitally enhance the file to produce this final image. In my mind, I did succeed in bringing forward the focal point I intended, but I do admit, I am still learning to effectively use my camera after more than 10 years away from serious photography. Thank you sincerely for the critique and for how you presented it! It's great to be complimented, but a critique helps us to improve our work - if we are careful enough to listen openly and learn.
*thank you*
